through the faster way to fat loss program, i started eating the right food for my body to function optimally. then i lost my baby weight without starving or depriving myself.
but it wasn’t always like this.
i remember it like it was yesterday. i had just put my three little boys to bed, cozied up in my bed with a bag of peanut m&ms and the feeling of defeat – i was exhausted. zero energy to spare, i was in a major brain fog. running on auto pilot. my blood sugar was a dang roller coaster (much thanks to the m&ms i’m certain) and the baby weight just would not come off (again thanks m&ms).
in a sentence, my body was on the struggle bus.
honestly, i could deal with the exhaustion, the brain fog, blood sugar, hormones. but what was really weighing on me (no pun intended) was the baby weight that i just couldn’t shed.
low carb. tried it.
caloric deficit. didn’t work.
weight watchers. ugh.
four spin classes a week. no thanks.
i tried them all. and i failed at them all. i either felt hungry all the damn time from restricting my calories. or was dying for a carbohydrate. so whatever the reason, i failed and i was frustrated.
so back to my bed & that family size bag of m&ms.
i vividly remember popping those little treats in my mouth by the fistful. scrolling through instagram. i had seen one particular blogger chatting up this faster way program for the last several weeks. her abs were freaking rock solid. she was a few years older than me and looked phenomenal. and by the complete grace of god or a sugar high, not quite sure what prompted me to actually sign up, but i did.
i closed my eyes. clicked the register button. popped another handful of candy in my mouth. and bit the dang bullet.
to be honest. i had zero expectations of having any sort of success. i chalked it up to likely being 199 dollars down the tube. but i was willing to try. if the faster way promised abs like said blogger, i’ll happily pay 199.
and praise be for that sugar high moment of signing up gang. because two and a half years later and i am still chugging along on that faster way train!
i had tremendous success.
but it’s so much more than that!
through the faster way i learned how to appropriately fuel my body to get it functioning optimally. i learned what foods to eat. how much foods to eat and when to eat. so i was eating more food than ever in my life. there was no deprivation or starvation or any of that.
i learned that our bodies need so much more food than we think. we have been trained to believe that to be thin we must restrict our calories and spend hours in the gym. and that is so not the case.
when you are properly fueling your body by eating enough carbs, fats, and proteins you will become a fat burning, lean muscle building, strong body. and that is good stuff.
in the faster way i learned the value of intermittent fasting. and the myriad of health benefits it provides. from cognitive repair and health to an increase in energy levels to increased fat loss.
in the faster way i learned the importance of never ever ever eliminating a macronutrient group from our bodies. people think that eliminating carbs is the way to go. but i am here to tell you carbs are not the bad guy. we absolutely need carbohydrates for our bodies to be functioning optimally. carbs are essential to our hormonal balance, our metabolism and our overall wellbeing.
in the faster way i learned how to eat enough food to fuel my body. i’m talking 1800 calories a day of whole food nutrition. good for you foods.
my relationship with food, my physical body and my mental wellbeing. and it can do the same for you.
whether you are the mama that is struggling to shed the baby weight or you just don’t have energy because you are wearing 17 different hats. or maybe you just do not know how to fuel your body to be thriving. we can fix that. and i would love to help you get there.
in my humble opinion, the faster way is the only way to be looking and feeling your best. while never ever ever feeling deprived. it is sustainable, it is a lifestyle. and it works.
