i do not believe that i have perfected many things in life . . . but when it comes to the perfect tuna sammie . . . i am certain i have knocked it out of the dang park. i am not trying to brag. its just a fact.
my version gives you the perfect mix of heat. texture. and cheesy goodness. it is so good in fact that you can eat it plain with a fork. or on a sammie. so depending on your lifestyle {where my low carb girls at} this is totally workable to meet every plans need. it is equally as good plain as it is as a sandwich.

the ingredients are super simple. you just need cans of tuna. mustard. mayo. pepper jack cheese. hot & spicy pickles from trader joes. arugula. nacho cheese corn chips. and your choice of bread.
the beauty is that there is no measuring here. you literally are going to build this based on your preferences. do you like a dry tuna salad? use less mayo & mustard. do you prefer a saucier tuna salad? add more mustard & mayo. do you love pickles as much as i do? load those babies up. get the picture?
you can also cater it to your lifestyle choice. if you are on a low carb day . . . i would load up on the mayo & cheese to get all those fat macros. if you are on a low macro day or watching your fat count . . . go light on the mayo & cheese. but load up on the pickles & mustard. either way you will not be skimping on flavor.

so lets talk cheeses. always always always choose a block of cheese over shredded bags. i know it is an extra step to either grate or dice. but it is always worth it. its just so much fresher. so chop up that block of pepper jack cheese. and enjoy the creaminess it adds to the salad.
you’re literally just going to mix all your ingredients together. add more till your hearts content. feel free to also add in a dash of salt & pepper. or even better. a few shakes of everything but the bagel seasoning.
then layer that bad boy up. i prefer the trader joes everything but the bagel ciabatta bread. it has fantastic flavor & great texture. but truly. even a plain ol’ slice of sourdough bread will be great. I layer extra mustard & mayo. then my tuna. then my arugula. then the nacho cheese corn chips.
do. not. skip. those babies. they take this sandwich to the next level. trust me. you will never eat tuna without them again. it will blow your mind.
so there you have it. the very best spicy tuna sammie. ain’t nothing fancy or tricky. just really dang delicious.
